The State of Innocence

Tuesday 19 July 2005.

I’m longing for the time when you cuddled me
Mother and you told me stories of Gods,
I’m longing for you to hug me and to play with
Your hair so long and dark,
I’m longing for you to call me to taste the bread
Baked in your body,
I’m longing for your divine breath to sing and
Laugh again in my ear,
I’m longing to be able to draw your colour on
The endless blue canvas,
I’m longing to sing again about your secret
Mystery that hides in your eyes,
I’m longing to run towards you to wash me
In your morning dew,
I’m longing to embrace you and fall asleep
In your lap while you tell me tales of Gods,
Tales of demons and tales of people.
